It starts with young lawyer Mitch McDeere – fresh out of college – looking for a law firm to start with. When he`s interviewed by the company that ends up hiring him – it seems like too good a job to be true – and of course doesn`t go as he hoped. At first, everything seems to be going perfectly – but over time, he notices some unusual characteristics of his employers – who do not seem to understand the concept of privacy. Like a good John Grisham-style character, Mitch begins to snoop – and yes, he learns that former employees have been killed “accidentally.” However, the autobiography revolves mainly around his life as a lawyer and gives profound examples of his relationship with prominent judges and lawyers. The writing style is typical of a lawyer with lots of footnotes and side notes in parentheses that don`t make up a great piece of literature. But literary perfection is not what the book wants to achieve.
It is especially full of anecdotes from great judges and lawyers.
